The International Mixed Martial Arts Association [IMMAA]**,
pronounced I [ahy] + MMAA [mah] was founded in 2002, as an umbrella alliance for all National & International Modern Martial Arts Federations, various associations and practitioners with the aim of friendship and education between all modern martial arts. They assist by helping their members becoming better informed and making themselves known, and cooperating and coordinating their activities.

The IMMAA presents itself as an international organization with a distinct educational profile as far
as its goals, structure, membership and working bodies are concerned.

Their main purpose is to serve as an international organization concerned with
the promotion and education in the mixed martial arts to contribute to the awareness of human
values inherent in the martial arts and to improve health
and physical well-being in all countries to the highest level.

They are able to accomplish this because they foster an environment free of intimidation, politics, and other distracters. Welcoming all like-minded individuals, regardless of race, gender, ethnic background, religion, national origin, or physical handicap.
